The City of Galesville contracts with Hart Appraisals for their assessing services.  Patrick Hart is the Assessor for the City of Galesville.  The Assessor does not keep regular office hours at City Hall.  If you have any questions regarding the assessed value of your real or personal property, please contact Pat at 608-372-2964.

Board of Review

The assessment of your property is determined by the Assessor as of January 1 of each year.  Under Wisconsin Statutes, the Assessor's values are assumed to be correct until proven otherwise,  which places the burden of proof upon the taxpayer.  If you are not satisfied with the assessment of your property, the time for you to do something about it is during the Open Book.  The Assessor will be available during  this time for property owners to view all City of Galesville property assessments.  If you believe your property is not fairly assessed in relation to other comparable City of Galesville properties, you must file a written objection form to be heard by the formal Board of Review.
